Description Notes

Zoological wall chart depicting the venous system of the skate fish. The drawing is taken from a book by Miss S.M. Manton entitled “A practical dissection” (1928). The ventral view has the following areas labelled: orbital sinus, anterior cardinal sinus, inf. jugular vein, pectoral girdle, brachial veins, pectoral fin cartilage, brachial veins, gonad, lateral abd. vein, kidney, iliac vein, anus, rectum, post. cardinal sinus, genital sinus, posterior cardinal sinus, liver, hepatic sinus, sinus venosus, auricle, conus arteriosus.

The wall chart is hand-painted and in colour.

Description
This diagrams is part of a collection of around 100 zoological illustrations which were donated from the Department of Zoology in 2006. The diagrams were used for teaching, and were hand drawn. All of the diagrams are very large, so that in lectures all the students could easily see them.
