Description
This is an instrument used in acoustic demonstrations. The metal “prong” vibrates in two perpendicular directions. By adjusting the height of the lower section of the “prong” one can alter the relative frequencies of the two vibrations. A silver bead that would have been on top would make it easier to see the movement, especially in conjunction with a stroboscopic device such as a rotating mirror.
