‘Ausländische Kulturpflanzen’, set of 11 wall charts with colour lithographs of colonial economic plants, artwork by Goering/Schmidt/Bukacz, published by F. E. Wachsmuth, German, c. 1890. With dealer's label attached: 'A. PICHLERS WITWE & SOHN, WIEN' [Vienna].
All charts are paper with a central colour lithograph image. They are bordered in strengthening linen. Each one depicts a panoramic scene of harvest/production of one or more economic colonial plants, with inset enlarged depictions and/or dissections of the plant(s).
The charts bear captions naming the plants depicted in German and Latin. Adjacent to these are the artists’ names (Goering-Schmidt-Bukacz or Goering-Schmidt) and the series title ‘Ausländische Kulturpflanzen’. Opposite these in the lower right-hand corner are stickers bearing the inscription ‘A. PICHLERS WITWE & SOHN, WIEN.’ These have been placed over a printed inscription ‘Leipziger Schulbilderverlag von F.E. Wachsmuth L[eipzig]’
