Description Notes

Development of a starfish (Asterina gibbosa Forbes ), no. 11.
Wax model of a starfish embryo. Number 11 of a series of 11 models showing the development of the starfish embryo. Depicts the same stage as model no. 10, but with section exposed.
Wax model in a cardboard box, lined with cotton wool. The model is in a box with numbers 8, 9, and 10 of the series.
Originally modelled by Ziegler.Adolf after the plates of Ludwig.Hubert.

Condition: good; complete.

Ziegler produced this series the old way, from the drawings and preparations of collaborating zoologist Hubert Ludwig. Ludwig approved the series and is advertised as the author to give it scientific credibility.
