Description Notes

Stopclock (aka stopwatch), wind-up, by W. G. Pye & Co., English, c. 1960.

Laboratory stopclock in black plastic case, with circular face and dial with three triangular feet. Seconds hand, minute hand, and free-moving pointer hand, which can be positioned by rotating thumb-turn in centre of dial face. Circular scale reads 0 to 60, graduated in increments of 1, and labelled every 10.

Steel bolt slides through body of clock horizontally behind face, and is slid right to start clock and left to stop it. Thumb turn on rear of case rotates minute hand. Metal key on rear of case for winding clockwork mechanism.

Embossed and painted in white on front two feet is:
MECHANICS RES. C.U.E.L.

Printed on face of dial is:
START STOP

RETURN MINUTE HAND TO ZERO IN CLOCKWISE DIRECTION ONLY

Condition: Fair / complete. Considerable dirt residue on body and face.
