Description Notes
Two thermometers in case by Dr. H. Geissler Nachfolger Franz Müller, German, late nineteenth/early twentieth century.
Two thermometers in case by H. Geissler, assumedly part of a set, as they are numbered “No. 4” and “No. 5”; additionally their measurements differ, and may perhaps succeed the previous thermometer. “No. 4.” is numbered 56 - 120oC at 2 degree intervals on the right and 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 2, 2, 2 at every 10 degree interval on the left. “ No. 5” is numbered 00 - 60 at two degree intervals on the right and every ten degree interval is labelled ‘2’. Thermometer no. 4 is slightly smaller than No. 5 and the hook at the top has chipped away.
Inside of box lined with black velvet. Indents for 7 thermometers, with a green ribbon to sit underneath to ease removal of thermometer from box. Box is broken at hinge.
Condition: Good/fair; incomplete.
