Rack and pinion adjuster, by C. F. Palmer, used by Alan Lloyd Hodgkin for physiology work, English, mid-twentieth century.

Large dial for adjustment has initials “A. L. H.” scratched into the metal.

Brass is very tarnished and scratched.
