Description
This postcard depicts the facade of the ‘Trip to Mars by Aeroplane’ ride at Luna Park on Coney Island. The ride ‘A Trip to the Moon’ was transformed into the Mars ride in 1912 when Luna Park owner Frederic Thompson went bankrupt and the park reopened under different management. Riders rode an aeroplane up to Mars, before disembarking and touring the planet with guides.
