Description Notes

Cell division model (one of 13), by Louis M. Meusel, German, c. 1920.

One of a set of 13 cell division models, by Louis M. Meusel. Model depicts a single cell in prophase and is assumedly the first model. Cell is either binucleated or show nucleus as well as pericentriolar material, and spindle beginning to form. Model is made of plaster and ebonized wooden stand. Small mark on the stand where a numbered sticker has come away (previously was labelled with its number in the sequence). Could also be the final model in the sequence with the first model missing. This would explain the seemingly binucleated cell.

In good condition, complete.
