Description Notes
Comparison microscope eyepiece attachment, made by Beck, English
The object consists of a single eyepiece that enters the body, made of black plastic; a series of prisms/mirrors within the body direct the light from the two objective lenses on either side to the central eyepiece. Looking through the eyepiece, the field of view is split between a white and black side, and by slightly changing the angle of view the user can alternate between black and white on both sides. Eyepiece lens can be removed.
According to Clark's label, the device was mounted on two 'Service' microscopes by WATSON (perhaps see Wh.6612, a "Service II" microscope by Watson & Sons).
