Model of the frog respiratory system, by Louis Thomas Jérôme Auzoux, French, mid- to late 19th Century.
Papier-mâché model in two pieces, joined together with steel pins. One section of one lung open so that the inner wall is visible. There are paper labels in places labelling the parts.

Description
Louis Thomas Jérôme Auzoux produced a wide variety of anatomical, zoological, and botanical models for university training using his own secret papier-mâché mixture. The models were dissectible, with labels and enhanced colouring, to aid the identification of different parts. This one shows the respiratory system of the frog.
