Cooke McArthur extreme terrain field microscope, by McArthur Microscopes Ltd., English, 1959 (c).
Light and compact handheld microscope made of brushed and ebonised aluminium alloy, which comes with several accessories. The electric illuminator slides off the top and its black lid slides off too. The eyepiece can be removed and taken apart. The condenser is adjusted by twisting it and can be removed entirely. The two stage clips slide out. The objective plate slides out; it has fitted spaces for three objectives but only contains one. Two screws on the side can be unscrewed to remove mirror fitting.
