Description
This is a surveyor's set containing 9 cardboard scales, produced by Eyre & Spottiswoode and manufactured in China. They were made for draughtsmen's drawing. On the box, the label mentioned "chains", which in the past refer to one of the tools used for measuring and creating surveys. The chains, in this object, refer to length, and are transformed into numbers and printed on cardboard paper.
