Otis King's Patent Calculator Model K, cylindrical slide rule, by Carbic Ltd., mid-20th Century.

Otis King's Patent Calculator Model K, cylindrical slide rule. in box, with manual. Object is a small tube, diam. about 30mm and 150mm length. Extends to 260mm. Two logarithmically scales wrapped helically around the cylinders are free to move axially and radially. There is a plastic (bakelite?) sleeve with two pointer indicators. Arithmetic can be performed by lining the pointers up and adjusting the scale.

Box is cardboard, black on outside, plain on inside. Sticker on one end of the box reads "K H1900" (note the serial number on the object itself is H 0191). Box is in fairly poor condition. Manual comprises two leaves (8 pages) green paper with black ink and some diagrams. held with a single staple. Manual is generic to models K and L.
