Electronic pocket calculator TI-1020, by Texas Instruments, Taiwanese, 1980.
Brown plastic case, with numeral and calculating function keys on the front, including π, 1/x, x2, √x, and xn. Above the keys is an LCD screen. On the back, "TEXAS INSTRUMENTS/electronic calculator/4980/assembled in Taiwan" is embossed. It is powered by 2 AA batteries.

Description
The TI-1020 is one of the early models manufactured in Taiwan by Texas Instruments, who took advantage of the low cost of labour and developing techniques in manufacturing electronics and semiconductors. Texas Instruments, though not the only company that set up branches in Taiwan, was the first one to develop portable electronic calculators.
