Description
Sir Andrew Huxley (1917-2012), FRS, was a British physiologist and biophysicist. After his undergraduate degree at Trinity College, Cambridge, he continued as a postgraduate under Alan Lloyd Hodgkin, working on neural science. The two, along with Eccles, were awarded the Nobel Prize of Physiology and Medicine in 1963 for their contribution to research on neural electrical signals.
A refractomer is a laboratory instrument used for determining the refractive index and the dispersion of liquids and solids.
