Description Notes

Sector, by John Worgan, English, c.1697.

Brass hinged sector engraved on both sides. Obverse displays the makers name and several scales. Reverse has further scales, and the edges are also marked with the numbers 1 to 12. The sector is hinged around a circular nodule at one end, and there are two small pieces of brass which are to be fitted in relative holes in the other length of the sector to secure it in place when closed.
