Description Notes

Gunner’s level with shaped brass foot carrying arced scale. 2 pillars from ends of scale meet at centre of circle from which is suspended plumb-bob with sliding central sight. Obverse has scale divided 5 - [0] - 5 numbered by 1 subdivided to 0.2. Also scale for distances to target (?) divided from centre [0] - 2380 numbered 1200, 1700, 2120, 2280, 2380. Reverse has scales divided 5 - [0] numbered by 1 subdivided to 1/6 and 1/8, and [0] - 500 numbered by 100 subdivided to 100/6 and 100/8. All subdivisions very crude.
