Description Notes
Nuremberg style; master cup with raised hinge pieces with triptych of ‘seals’ on side of cup and pair of ‘seals’ on lid. Raised clasp with two ‘sea horses’. Two ‘mermen’ support the handle which incorporates the heads of two ‘horses’. Lid decorated with inscribed circles and stamped 16lb and makers mark 3 times. Master cup decorated with horizontal bands and stamped geometric patterns. Inside of lid decorated with inscribed circles as are all the cups. 11 cup weights stamped with the denomination in lbs and 10ths with larger weights in Marcs also: ‘4’= ‘8 marks’; ‘2’= ‘4 marcs’ ; ‘1’= ‘2 marcs’; ‘16’ = ‘1 marc’; ‘8’; ‘4’; ‘2’; ‘1’; no calibration for 1/2;1/4;1/8 (disc missing)
Adjusting holes drilled into base.
