Description Notes
Brass quadrant on extended base plate, graduated 0 - 90˚, numbered by 10˚, divided to 1˚, and graduated for ‘Links in a chain Diff of Hypo & Base’, 0 - 100 on a reducing scale, numbered 1, 2, 5, 10, 20…100 (divided to 1/4 from 0-2, and then to 1; 27-1-2000). Hinged pinhole and window sight (with wire crosshairs) on reverse of base. Bubble with indicator plate moves over quadrant; bevelled edge at scale; detachable hinged mirror for viewing bubble. Two holes, one on perpendicular plate, suggest attachment to another instrument. Wooden case.
Two brass washers and two screws (possibly part of instrument).
Condition: good; complete.
