Description Notes
Oval silver dial plate decorated at the foot of the gnomon; 2 feet.
Three hour scales: one for 52, divided IIII - XII, I - VIII, numbered by I, subdivided to 15 minutes; one for 49, divided 4 - 12, 1 - 8, numbered by 1, subdivided to 15 minutes; one for 45, divided 4 - 12, 1 - 8, numbered by 1, subdivided to 15 minutes. Inset compass with ‘N’ at north point.
Gnomon support with scale of latitudes divided 40˚ - 55˚, numbered by 5˚, subdivided to 1˚ (lacks sliding index).
Verso of the compass box has a list of towns and latitudes.
