Description Notes
Wooden plate with a semicircular slate set in it; wood painted black, slate purple grey with the engraved lettering etc. picked out in yellow. Circumference of slate divided 90˚ - 0 - 90˚, numbered by 10˚, subdivided to 1˚. Within these are marked points of a wind rose for west through south to east. Also a horizontal sundial with hour lines divided 6 - 12, 1 - 6, numbered by 1 (divided 6-1, 12, 1-6; 13-1-2000). Marked ‘Horizontaalen P; H 51 1/2g Meridionaalen’. Oak rod, stained black forms alidade carrying a compass. Compass card hand-painted and set on the needle; 8 point rose with points marked by initial; similar marking on the rim of the compass box.
