Description Notes

Painted wooden pillar; turned foot and cap both painted red; cylinder hollowed to take brass gnomon when not in use. Suspension ring. Calibrated with ‘whole phase’ sinusoidal hour lines divided V - XII, 1 - 7, numbered by I or 1. Date lines with named months and associated zodiac symbols and signs.
