Description Notes

Tribrach foot with 3 levelling screws; pillar to brass plate. Inset compass with 8 points marked; silvered rose; degree scale divided 0 - 360˚, numbered by 10˚, subdivided to 1˚. Names of places and latitudes marked round the compass. Latitude arc divided 70˚ - 0, numbered by 10˚, subdivided to 1˚. Hour ring divided IIII - XII, I - VIII, numbered by I, subdivided to 15 minutes; rod gnomon. Model cannon with touch hole; 2 altitude arcs either side, one divided J - D (almost illegible); supports for lens. 2 bubble levels mounted on the plate.

Condition: good.
