Description Notes
Gilt brass with suspension clasp. On the inside of the base plate is a compass (glass and needle modern). Limbs of cross marked with cardinal points in Latin. Latitude scale marked ‘Polus=höch’ and divided 10˚ - 90˚, numbered by 10˚, irregular subdivisions. Inside of the main body lined with light brown velvet; hinged latitude support arm; sides of crucifix carry hour lines divided 6 - 12, 1 - 6 (divisions around cross are 9-12, 7-9, 3-5, 2-1-3, 9-11, 7-10, 2-6, 1-3; 13-1-2000), numbered by 1.
