Description Notes

Brass; 8 sided base; rests on verso of compass; dial plate, 8 sided with semi eliptical segment taken out of side opposite hinge; calibrated V-XII-VII by I to 5’. Decorated dial plate with ‘oak-leaf’ border inside the calibrations; decorated folding style; on verso a list of towns and latitudes; folding arm 0-60o by 10 to 1o; inset compass in base; 8 point rose; fleur de lis north 8 cardinal points; marked for magnetic variation 20 - (0) - 20 by 10 to 1 with adjustable index point.
Fitted box covered with shagreen and lined with red velvet. Brass hinge and hook fasteners.

Condition of box - fair.

Condition: good.
