Description Notes

Cabinet of geological specimens, by James Tennant, June 1851.

Mahogany cabinet with brass hinges and lock (no key). Contains eight mahogany-fronted drawers, which are subdivided with cardboard partitions (except drawer VI). Drawers contain mineral specimens, fossils and metals, mostly numbered with paper labels.
Accompanying booklet contains handwritten catalogue of the minerals and two pages of printed advertisements for James Tennant. A further double page spread of advertisements is stuck to the inside of the base of the cabinet.

Incomplete (some specimens missing).
