Description Notes

Silver; central disc with pierced plates rotating over both faces.
Obverse: pierced with one window showing the central disc with date scale divided 1 - 31, numbered by 1. Marked on plate with days of the week in Dutch. Decoratively engraved. Also vignette of the flood with arc of drowning people.
Reverse: pierced with six windows showing the central disc with zodiac scale marked ‘De loop Der Son’ divided to named symbol; date scale marked ‘De Maandt, Dagen lang’ and divided to named month; length of day scale marked ‘De Dag is uren lang’ and divided 7 - 17 - 7, numbered by 1; length of night scale marked ‘De Naght is uren lang’ and divided 7 - 17 - 7, numbered by 1; sunrise scale marked ‘De Sonop’ and divided 3 1/2 - 9 1/2 - 3 1/2; sunset scale marked ‘De Son onder’ and divided 3 1/2 - 8 1/2 - 3 /12. In the centre of face a coat of arms (crossed swords), surmounted by a coronet; leaf and flower motif.
