Description Notes

Silver; central disc with pierced plates rotating over both faces.
Obverse: pierced with one window showing the central disc with date scale divided 1 - 31, numbered by 1. Marked on plate with days of the week in Dutch. Vignette of a church, horses and men in the fields.
Reverse: marked ‘calendarium perpetuum’. Pierced with six windows showing the central disc with zodiac scale divided to symbol (1st Aries at March 10); date scale marked ‘Maend’ and divided to named month; length of day scale marked ‘Dag langh’ and divided 7 - 17 - 7, numbered by 1; length of night scale marked ‘Naght langh’ and divided 7 - 17 - 7, numbered by 1; sunrise scale marked ‘Son opgangh’ and divided 3 1/2 - 8 1/2 - 3 1/2; sunset scale marked ‘son ondergangh’ and divided 3 1/2 - 8 1/2 - 3 /12. Vignette of sand glass.
