Description Notes

Brass cylinder pierced with 4 vertical slits. Sights set mutually at right angles. Milled head rotates cylinder over a graduated base [0] - 360 numbered by 10 subdivided to 1. Vernier scale on cylinder reads to 5’ of arc. Cylinder on base, with clamp, for attachment to tripod. Screw on cover for compass. Compass with silvered 8 point rose graduated [0] - [90] - [0] twice, numbered by 10 on lower scale and [0] - 360 numbered by 10 subdivided to 1 on upper. Small roundel of blue/grey agate in centre of steel needle. Locking bar.
