Description Notes

Graphometer, by Lenoir, French, 1775-1800.

Brass semi-circle pierced and divided 0 - 180 in both directions numbered by 10 subdivided to 30’. Telescope mounted on pivot on vernier plate which reads scale to 1’ of arc. Clamp and slow-motion screw. Sliding eyepiece focus. Second telescope mounted below semi-circle in rectangular frame. Pivoting. Sliding eyepiece focus. Clamp and slow motion screw for azimuth measuring. Ball and socket joint with winged clamping screw for attachment to tripod. Separate spirit level. Fitted wooden box.
