Carved wooden case with relief decoration of 2 wolves (?) and foliage, and a bird and foliage on the reverse; sundial slides into case - pulled in and out by a knotted piece of cord; steel needle; ring of 24 characters engraved and coloured white on a black ring; folding hinged brass gnomon.
