Description Notes

Black and white stipple engraving after a painting by Romney showing Newton with a prism and two female onlookers. Also an orrery in the foreground of the picture.

Mounted and framed. Under the backboard of the frame is an albumen print of a seated lady. It is being used to hold the Newton print in position. However it suggests that the Newton print has been reframed and that the albumen print is the original owner of the frame.

Condition fair see condition report in history file.
