Description Notes

Oxidised brass claw-foot stand; limb pivots between stand on two lugs projecting below the stage; tubular limb; swinging plano/concave mirror push-fits onto the limb; square state with circular aperture and sliding slide rest; either side of the limb, operating on a rack on the limb; bar limb to body with lever operated fine focus; screw fit collar; push fit eye piece and screw fit objective.
Fitted wooden box with sliding drawer; spare eyepiece; 2 objective cases marked 1 IN, and ‘1/4 + 1/2 in’, total of 2 objectives and 2 eyepieces; wheel of diaphragms; pair of tweezers.

Condition: fair, Soldering holding microscope to base has given way so instrument is in 2 pieces (16/4/97).
incomplete, ‘WITH A RANGE OF ACCESSORIES IN A MAHOGANY CASE’ only 4 lenses and tweezers extant (17/7/2002).
