Description Notes

Booklet with card cover. Front cover in yellow and cream with titles, makers and image of the Venus de Milo. Inside the front cover is attached by glue a paper booklet with details of the workings of the female body. It concerns items such as muscles, the excretory system, the digestive system etc and a list at the back of the items shown in the plates. A large page is glued to the inside of the back cover by its central section, being folded in to three. When opened out to its full size plate I is the skeleton, plate IV a rear view of the muscles, plate V the brain, spinal column and nervous system. On the reverse of plate IV is plate III which is a front view of muscle. Here the torso opens up to reveal the internal organs such as the lungs, kidneys, heart etc. There is also the womb with foetus. On the reverse of plate V is plate II, showing the arteries and veins.
