Description Notes

Wooden box with brass carrying handle and hinges; lock removed; empty slide drawer with ivory handle in top left; fittings to store accessories.
Microscope: black finish with brass body and screws; kettledrum foot; pivoting body; circular stage with fittings for stage clips (missing); condenser with iris diaphragm; swinging plane mirror; cranked limb with coarse focus screws either side of limb; fine focus at top of limb. Push-fit eyepiece.
Two brass object lenses in the case, stored in brass tubes with screw-fit lids. One marked ‘1 in’; the other marked ‘1/4 in’. Case also contains a magnifying lens on two brass rods, connected together by a ball joint, which screw into a brass-topped disc base, also stored in the side of the box.

Condition - very good; complete.
