Description Notes
In gilded brass with steel beam; openwork frame beam with agate centre and end bearings; graduated scale on brackets from beam divided 0 - 10, numbered by 1, subdivided to 0.1. Knobs for lifting beam. Screw thread with ball adjustment for beam. Agate planes on steel hangers to stirrup hung aluminiumised pans. Index screws into beam, square window in pointer.
Brass pillar on circular base; three plate horizontal member supports beam. Screw adjustable. Agate centre plane; sliding rider bar with magnifying glass, operated by knurled screws from right hand side. Arresting mechanism lever on left side. Illuminated scale at base with flex outlet at rear. Diagonal mirror for reading index at eye level with ground glass screen.
Case split by glass plate below beam. Whole mounted on black glass plate with 3 feet, two with levelling screws. Mahogany inner case with sliding 1/2 front and outer whole front. Upper and lower side doors.
Second large glazed mahogany case. Sliding front door with brass handles. Black-painted white metal lamp holder at reverse. Inside of case has 3 brass locating foot rests.
Condition good (outer case has splinter at back); complete
