Description Notes

Piece of Deptford cable mounted on wooden stand with brass hanging brackets. Cable consists of copper core and outer tube with insulating material, provided by paper steeped in ozokerite (a waste product of candle-making). Outer sheath of wrought iron sealed by basting with an asphaltic compound.
