Description Notes

Rectangular wooden box, hinged lid, painted black inside; rectangular window at one end with sliding, translucent glass dial with scale, 140mm long with 1mm divisions; two brass galvanometer terminals on ebonite plate under scale; two similar terminals at opposite end for lamp power; inside box: galvanometer at scale end, plane rectangular mirror at other end, lamp and lens between; galvanometer unit in rectangular metal case, with circular glazed window showing suspended circular mirror, and coil surrounding fixed iron core in gap of magnet; clamping screw and zero adjustment.
Toggle switch on box, marked ‘CARRY’ and ‘MAT’ (added) provides resistive damping for coil.
