Description Notes

Comparison spectrometer - a form of direct-vision spectroscope displaying two spectra, one above the other, and a scale. Object end has mount for test tubes and housing for optics separating incoming light. Brass draw tube carries slit with brass jaws, width adjustable by milled ring. Inside is white metal casing for prisms. Side tube with scale on brass draw-tube, with scale, reflected to field of view. Illuminating mirror on pivoted screw.
