Description
This didactic model of an electron gun was acquired from the University of Cambridge’s Department of Engineering. It is composed of an annotated and exposed specimen with labelled parts, inside a presentation case.

Electron guns produce a narrow, collimated electron beam that has a precise kinetic energy. Their main use was in cathode ray tubes (CRTs), used in older television sets, computer displays, and oscilloscopes.
