Description Notes
Open triangle beam, agate centre knife and end knives. Beam divided 9 - [0] - 9, numbered by 1 graduated to .5. Reverse of beam stamped 4. Pans in platinised metal with brass stirrup hangers and hooks (J wires missing). Balance mounted on circular brass pillar set on square base. At front of case a knurled brass knob operates an arresting mechanism abd steadies the pans by lifting two felt-lined knobs. Horizontal member supports pans in two V notches. Two part agate centre-plane. Index screws into horizontal bar on beam and moves over ivory scale. Rider slides on right hand side only. Polished Mahogany glazed case set on three brass levelling feet. Fitted drawer with cabinet makers pencilled initials and numbers ‘14619’ , ‘19075’ and ‘6/94’ (date)
