Description Notes

Printed, typed and handwritten indenture for measures of capacity, one bushel to one half-gill, made by R.B. Bate in 1824 for the University of Cambridge and one one-quarter gill measure marked ‘Borough of Cambridge 1873’. All gunmetal cylindrical measures, taken over by the Borough of Cambridge. Endorsed verifications on 1879, 1936, 1946, 1952, 1962.
