Description
A percussor was used to find out information about the heart and lungs (a diagnostic instrument). The technician of percussion now involves tapping one finger on another on the chest wall and listening to the sound produced.
Before this was done a percussion hammer was used, and an ivory disc, called a pleximeter, was first held against the wall of the chest and then tapped with the hammer.
