Description
This type of instrument would often come in a set of other instruments used in dentistry during the 18th Century most commonly referred to as dental hygeine sets. Other items would have included togue scrapers and tooth picks.

Before this type of dentistry emerged extraction was usually the only option. The teeth could be kept clean by regular scraping.
