Two botanical prints of iris plants, engraving, hand-coloured, by B. Besler and others, German, 1613
Two copper engraving with hand colouring from a set of 58 prepared under the supervision of Basilius Besler of Nuremberg as a record of the gardens of Johann Conrad von Gemmingen of Eichstätt. One plate shows 3 iris plants: yellow, brown and white (repair to bottom right hand corner) the other, signed, plate shows sedum and pea plants: red purplish-white, pink and yellow. Mounted and framed.
