After numerous previous experiments on the behaviour of calibrated ceramic elements under various treatments likely to improve stability of calibration, and the measurement of temperature coefficients and other properties affecting their use, it has become clear that under certain conditions, particularly at low or constant humidity, the ceramic elements can give a reliable measurement of humidity.

This Technical Memorandum of the British Society for Research in Agricultural Engineering is a brief enquiry into the moisture content of grain harvested by combine to determine the propirtion of grain that needed drying, based on a sample four Bedfordshire farms’ output in 1948.
