Title
The measurement of relative humidity by an electrical method utilizing adsorption in ceramic elements. Third Progress Report.
Description
After numerous previous experiments on the behaviour of calibrated ceramic elements under various treatments likely to improve stability of calibration, and the measurement of temperature coefficients and other properties affecting their use, it has become clear that under certain conditions, particularly at low or constant humidity, the ceramic elements can give a reliable measurement of humidity.
Information is presented under these headings:- Introduction; A. Elements Sealed in Dry Enclosure; B. Enclosure at 34% R.H.; C. Enclosure at 58% R.H. D.Elements Desiccated Between the Readings E. Elements of Large and Small Surface/Volume Ratios. F. Conditioning; G. Elements Tested and Stored in a Clean Atmosphere. Amount of Water Vapour Adsorbed by the Elements; Permissible Power; Voltage Coefficient; Direct Current; Temperature Coefficient; Comparison of Various Electrode Materials; Talc Bodies; Conclusions
